Sort Of Bad News

I tried and tried and couldn't get this switch to work today. And whats bugging me is its just a 3 prong rocker switch and it should be just about the easiest thing in the world to wire and I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. I'm not sure if the switch is just messed up or its not meant to be used in a car but its a 120v switch I bought from radioshack. I can only think of the problem being is its faulty or the 120v switch won't work in a 12v scenario which I can't think of a reason why it wouldn't. Tomorrow i'm probably going to see if I can just wire it directly to a car battery and if the LEDs still won't turn on them i'm probably just going to head over to a local auto store and see if they have any 12v switches. 

If anyone else has any ideas let me know.
